This doesn’t look so different from last year’s top 25.
It was another Mariah-released-a-new-album year.

Thanks for coming to our holiday Hotnuts Illusions of Privacy party. Mary Messhausen had her face done woochie style. People thought she was straight from the Pandora rain forest.
Lady Kaka had the pants loaded when she took the stage and made us all sing: “Bad Incontinence. Ka-Ka-Puuuhh-La-La.”
Abbas won the grand prize in the first Hotnuts raffle: a herbal cookie, a Bernhard Willhelm t-shirt (he believed it) and a Lady Kaka ep.
More pictures after the jump, full set on flickr.

Come celebrate the holidays with us at Hotnuts Illusions of Privacy. Yes, we’re going with a more mystical theme this month.
After we went seeing the movie, Mary Messhausen come up with her own Avatar dance. It will switch your bio-fluorescent lights on. At midnight we will have the first ever Hotnuts Raffle with lots of illusions.
Scatological sensation Lady Kaka will perform her new hit single Bad Incontinence. We can’t wait to watch the brown mess unfold on stage.

The pictures from the video shoot to the next Mariah single “Up Out My Face” look very promising. I mean, Mimi and featured rapper Nikki Minaj as dolls, what more can you ask for? Do I have to mention that it is one of my favourite songs of the album?
The song is going to be a single from the Memoirs remix album, which is dropping on February 23.
February is going to be a crazy Mariah month. She is going to perform in Toronto on Feb 9 as part of the Angels Advocate Tour. And Mary Messhausen and myself have front row tickets. I guess I will need to wear diapers, cause I will surely wet myself with some butterfly juice nectar.

Here are some amazing pictures of the new palace of Russian gazillionaire businessman Sergey Vasileva. The palace is dedicated to last Tsar Nicholas II. Check out more pictures at Royal Russia News.
Every photo is another example of the wonderful “enough is never enough” baroque style. I imagine Siegfried & Roy and Michael Jackson as royal guests of the palace.

You first saw Twista, Vixen and Snoopy of the House of Monroe at our Hotnuts Pride party in June. They set the night on fire with their drops.

John Waters talks German with Die Zeit.
I really like his take on the word “Trash” and the definition of “good bad taste” and “bad bad taste”. Thanks h. aus f. for the link.
Thanks to all the GothNuts who came out and made Legitimate Look so much dark fun.
Just in time, Mary and myself had returned from a Neon Rave Camo time traveling trip.
Opera Arcana performed 3 wonderful songs, one of them was The Raven.
Mary was so inspired by it that she created a dance named after it & taught everyone on the dance floor how to dance The Raven. This was the moment.
Check out the photos below, more after the jump & the whole set on flickr.

Opera Arcana’s video premiered over at our friends at omgblog.com. Check it out below and make sure to read up on Southern Ontario Goth before Hotnuts on Saturday.
We can’t wait for the concert.
After a two months break we’re very excited about the upcoming Hotnuts Legitimate Look.
You don’t want to miss the debut performance by Opera Arcana – featuring the legendary G.B. Jones (Fifth Column), who hasn’t been on stage for more than 10 years, Minus Smile (Kids on TV) and Julie Faught (The Pining).
When we asked Minus Smile back in spring to perform at Hotnuts, we never thought that would turn into such a super group. Tomorrow, make sure to check this post again for the wonderful, dreamy video of Opera Arcana’s song The Raven.
And one musical premiere is not enough for Hotnuts Legitimate Look. das hussy has been hard at work on a deep house remix of Woods by Bon Iver. Get your dancing heels ready.

When Mary, Toffi and myself saw This Is It in Berlin we were very hungover. We had set up Girlscamp near Alexanderplatz. The cinema was just around the corner. Toffi had not slept the night before because Mary and I did not hear him ring the doorbell from 6 to 8am. Or maybe he sat in front of the wrong door, ringing the wrong bell.
After we sat through the boring trailers, I woke Toffi up: “This Is It. This is the moment.”
“I say that because of love. L. o. v. e.” Michael would say after requesting changes from the dancers or the musical director.
We fell in love with the dancers. The dancer clones in They Don’t Care About Us.
The King of Pop, during a very emotional scene with all dancers and musicians on stage, said that we have 4 years to save the planet. We were with him in a heartbeat. I mean what does Madonna know anyways, who thought we only had 4 Minutes to save the world?
Michael’s outfits were amazing. OK, maybe minus the Ed Hardy pants he wore at one point.
MJ’s stylist for the This Is It concerts was Serbian born Rushka Bergman, who first met when she styled him in Dior Homme for the October 2007 issue of Italian Vogue L’Uomo. For Micheal’s look for the shows, Bergman collaborated with Christophe Decarnin for Balmain, John Galliano, Kris Van Assche for Dior Homme and Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.

“Das ist Bauhaus.” said the lady when I put the vase in front of her at the cash register of the KPM store. I have had an eye or two on this piece of porcelain for ages.
The Vase Halle was designed in 1931 by Marguerite Friedlaender. Ms Friedlaender had gotten her Bauhaus Master Potter designation in 1926, when left the school, and moved to, you guessed it, Halle.
I recommend to put another favourite product of mine on the vase: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic’s Lip Tar. Looks extra good in hot pink (they call it anime). You do not only want to drink out of the vase – you want to lick it all day.

Finally, Lady Gaga is on it. Hercules & Love Affair have taken over the Lady’s new single, Bad Romance. So ready for it.
Ich bin auch ganz begeistert that Gaga sings parts in französich.
So international. Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah. Roma-roma-mamaa.

It’s limited. It’s available in pink. It’s an elephant.
That’s why it is instantly in the top 5 of my wish list. The Eames Elephant.
The Eameses initially designed an elephant out of molded plywood in the 40ties but never put it into production. Only two original prototypes were made. Now available for the first time, the Vitra produced polypropylene version of the elephant is in the style of the Eames molded plastic seating.
I read some where that each color is limited to 1000 trunks, but I can’t seem to find it anymore. The elephants are so cute, even kids seem to like them and ride them in nature, see picture below. So versatile, I need one.

One of the highlights of the Live Film! Jack Smith! festival of the arsenal cinema in Berlin was seeing and meeting legendary underground superstar Mario Montez, who had not appeared in public for 30 years. Mario started his career with the Jack Smith films Flaming Creatures (as Dolores Flores) and Normal Love before becoming one of he first Warhol superstars.
With Jack Smith, he shared a fascination of 1950′s/60′s gay camp icon Maria Montez, who became the source of inspiration for Mario’s drag name.

Sunday, last party night in Berlin at Berghain Kantine. ND’s birthday with a very special tequila bar by Conny and Zu from Amsterdam. After having been to crazy parties for 3 nights before, Sunday was almost impossible… But the tequila brought back our energy.
Monday morning was also the end of Girlscamp Berlin. Mary Messhausen, Toffi, Prancey Girl and myself had rented an apartment together. More on that later. For now, enjoy the pictures below, more after the jump. Even more on flickr.

I spent the last few days chillaxing in Budapest. There are two main things to do here: eating cake and resting at a spa. Some of the thermal baths date back to the Turkish period. Like the Király, which comes with extra gay gayness to clean out every orifice.
When I leave Budapest tomorrow evening, I guess I will be just as tender as a big, fat piece of warm butter. Melting away and ready to party. Fasten your seat belts.
I’m almost on my way. Packing, packing, packing. Hauptstadtfeeling, here we go. My trip to the motherland and other bits of old Europe starts this Friday. And at the end of October, I’m going to meet up with Mary Messhausen, Oliver, Prancey Girl and Toffi in Berlin. There are two exciting events for what is going to be a super extra long (but not very halloweeny) weekend in the capital.
On Sunday, November 1st, I’m going to be djing for my friend ND Baumecker’s birthday at Berghain Kantine. Mary Messhausen will be a hosting as The Juicy Punne. Starts around 9 or 10 pm.
The Wednesday before sees the opening of the Live Film, Jack Smith festival at arsenal. All the Jack classics will be screened. So many events, films and performances, there is barely time for shopping. What can you do? My favourites are posted below & make sure to read arsenal’s press clippings for all the 411.
Mark your calendars for Oliver’s premiere of Purfled Promises, Sunday afternoon, November 1st, 4:30pm. This is going to be one packed Sonntag.
From Oct. 28 through Nov. 11, Arsenal Berlin presents the event “LIVE FILM! JACK SMITH! Five Flaming Days in a Rented World“. The performances, films and videos, slide presentations, exhibitions, concerts, lectures, and discussions, look at the gender-bending and genre-breaking works of Jack Smith, Andy Warhol and other avant-garde artists of the 1960s, from a number of angles. The work of Jack Smith is juxtaposed with recent works of numerous international contemporary artists. A special guest is the legendary drag performer and underground superstar Mario Montez, who on this occasion will appear in public for the first time in thirty years.

The first Hotnuts double-themed party was so much fun. Thanks for coming out.
Lex and Karen brought “Blood Viking Sex Magik” to the Hotnuts stage. It out us into total imperfect angel bliss. Have a look at lots of chili viking outfits below.
In true Mariah style, we used Hello Kitty tongue tattoos to beautify many tacky tongues. (Thank you, Toffi.)

First the bad news: There is going to be no Hotnuts for Halloween in October as Mary, Oliver and proddy are in old, ancient Europe. But here comes the good news: Because of that we thought we need two themes this month. The first Hotnuts double bill, this Saturday, September 26:

London’s Regent Street just got a new pop up-flash shop (whatever you want to call it) which is open from September 7 to October 18. On sale are the limited edition Liberty and Hermès printed scarfs and ties.
The scarfs feature classic Liberty micro floral patterns with a Hermès”™ ‘Ex Libris’ design dropped on top. All that comes in the finest cotton.
Needless to say, Mary and myself really want such a limited collabo scraf.

(Danke superschum)
“Einsam sein ist keine Kunst.”
When can you see Mariah, Mary J. Blige and Oprah together on stage? Only at the gala screening of Precious at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Clearly, Oprah took over. I was short of making an animated gif of the last two pictures below. But it scared me too much.
Roisin Murphy premiered new songs in London last weekend. Her pregnancy seems to have popped out “Momma’s Place”. She sounds amazing, singing live over the pumping beats. The synths in the background sound like a sample, no?
The first single to Roisin’s planned new album is supposed to be “Demon Lover”. During an interview with BBC6 early this year she described it as a “big funky house track”. Not sure when the album drops, as she was also talking about releasing it in bundles, maybe as EPs? So, let’s hope we’re getting some new stuff soon.

The Kid Cudi album, Man On The Moon: The End Of Day, has leaked and of course it is great. Beats be good and his sometimes sleepy voice puts me into some kind of romantic(?) mood. He be cute.
Yesterday, 30 sec samples of the songs of Mariah’s new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel leaked. Mimi is on the classic R&B trip and so far I’m totally lovin’ H.A.T.E.U., Ribbon and Up Out My Face.
And when I read Mariah’s tweets in the morning it makes my day…

Can this September get any better? Mariah is releasing her “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” at the end of the month and about a week before, September 21, we’re getting a new Yoko Ono album, Between My Head And The Sky. It is the first record since 1972 recorded with the Plastic Ono Band. The new band lineup features her son Sean Lennon, who has also co-produced the album with Yoko.
I was just listening to the samples of the songs and I guess the more electronic songs “Watching The Rain” and the first single / ep “The Sun is Down!” are my favourites. There is also the classic Yoko moaning in “Moving Mountains” (for a moment I was hoping she had done a cover version of the Usher song), the fun lyrics of “Ask The Elephant!” and how could I forget about the heartbreaking ballad “I’m Going Away Smiling”?
Yoko seems unstoppable these days, she just has collaborated with designers ThreeASFOUR for their spring 2010 collection. Want it.

Already yesterdays news in old Europe, I guess this is the North American premiere. Almodóvar is not on the list of people to attend the festival, but Penelope Cruz is. So, I can’t wait to see the movie and hopefully a Q&A with Penelope. I’ve avoided to read anything about Broken Embraces, but here are a couple of pictures from Ms. Cruz screen tests.

Shockingly, this drama is the highlight of the festival for me. You know I prefer the light fare, but what can I do when Mariah always chooses to star as a supporting actress (here: social worker) in the serious films? And Mimi is going to be in town for the screening!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh, I wish Mariah would appear in a comedy alongside Seth Rogen, maybe something like “The eternally 12 year old Butterfly”. That would be fun, no?
Wish me luck in getting tickets. It would be so great if they would sell some through Mariah’s fan club, Honey B. Fly. Of course, I’m a memberess…
p.s. which Mariah outfit from Precious do you like best?
I think I’m going for the first one.

Friday September 18 10:00PM JACKMAN HALL – AGO
Although the title could suggest some serious fun, Korine’s new movie seems to be darkly serious. I wasn’t really impressed with “Mister Lonely” and all its impersonators, so maybe this one is going back to his rougher days.
There are two Werner Herzog films: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done and the new Claire Denis film, White Material (But I’m not supposed to write about that one. I’m not even supposed to write that I’m not supposed to write about it.).
So, I spent the last weeks at a cottage north of Toronto. I thought I had to get out of the city for some time. And can you imagine, I did not even have access to the interwebz?! Honestly, I do not know how the peoples survive up there.
After awhile, I got into the cottage life style: Get up. Have some bubbly. Swim away your hangover. More bubbly. Visit your friends by boat. Have a morsel to eat for din din. Have a drink. Socialize. Have more drinks. Pass out on the patio of your newly found friends. Wake up in the morning with no recollection on how you got home.
It was one of those days when I set out for a special cruise.
Be sure to check out the short clip at the end of the post.
Dress by the one and only Prancey Girl.

The map was supposed to show me the way to the cliff pirates.

Finally, I was on the boat & on my way. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Ok. This was not all fun. But a lady knows her way up.

The reward for reaching the top. Me and my best friend, Veuve.
Pure joy. You know I like to pop a cork or two.

Striking a couple of poses on top of the cliff: The one-legged harlequin.

Uhhhh, the fresh breeze up my dress felt so good. I wanted more.

Another cliff pose: Becoming a tree.
Now, I really need to cool off…

I’m really sorry for posting this so late, but I was without the interwebz for much too long (more on that later).
If you’re in Cologne tonight, this is where you should be.

One of my favourite disco songs from Music for Men by Gossip now has a video full of giant balloon heads on roller skates. I only wish they had a jam packed roller skating ring at the end.
Also, check out the cut up, classic house remix by Riva Starr. If this is not enough Beth Ditto for you, listen to her as she hits the high notes on Simian Mobile Disco’s Cruel Intentions.
Thanks so much for making Adult-BabyNuts fun. It was our youngest crowd yet. The baby that Mary and myself brought on stage did not survive long, toddler Lex humped it flat in no time.
Miss Fluffy Souffle performance had lots of pills and juices going. Such a babe.
As El Bear Ho’s birthday was just a couple of days ago, we had a cute carebear cake done by baby Frostitution.
More pictures after the jump, full set on flickr.
Har Mar Superstar, the Minnesota native, who is now located in L.A. dropped his new single, Tall Boy. Originally written with Britney Spears in mind, the song is from his upcoming album, Dark Touches.
Also, watch his classic Power Lunch video below. Additional vocals by Beth Ditto.
“Deeper, deeper, I can feel your beeper.” So 2002.
I have just written an article for Laser Magazine about the Cockettes, which I believe will be out in September. I’ll post that one later.
Sylvester, who was part of the drag troupe, is finally getting his own documentary. The 10 minute preview features interviews with Martha Wash (who started as a backup singer for him in the Two Tons o’ Fun), Patti Labelle and out-of-drag RuPaul. But a gay doc would not be complete without recollections by your favourite drag daddy, John Waters, right?

On some websites, the 10 minute version is listed as a mini documentary in it own right. And this preview has been uploaded for a while, so let’s hope there is a feature length baby coming soon.

Oh, she looks just like a gay. Sorry, I had to let it out.
Of course, Jochen Diestelmeyer is just in gay drag, but I’m so excited to hear new songs after his band Blumfeld faded away in 2007.
JD’s new album “Heavy” will be out September 25, the single “Lass uns Liebe sein” (Let us be Love) hits stores September 4 and www.distelmeyer.de is online now should be onläne pretty soon. With titles like that, it has to be good. (via Spex)
In the meantime, watch Blumfeld’s classic “Tausend Tränen Tief” (Thousand Tears Deep) featuring Helmut Berger below.
Finally, here are the Drag Holes pictures. It was tons of fun. Our bells were ringing all day as we were happy to be part of the Pride Toronto festivities. Thanks Daryl.
Mary and myself were expecting much more sausage action, maybe it was too light outside, maybe we did not have enough poppers. Anyways, we have not seen so many hands in one day. Ever.
Have a look for yourself after the jump. There are a lots of hotties that had their body parts beautified after they slipped them into the Drag Holes.
My favourite performance from the Michael Jackson memorial: Jennifer Hudson gives a powerful rendition of MJ’s 1993 single “Will You Be There” from the Dangerous album.
(Sorry for using CNN.)
Mariah is currently in New York at the Plaza Hotel shooting a video with director Brett Ratner for her new single, Obsessed. Today, she leaked a photo of the star of the video on MariahCarey.com.

This is the most hysterical drag number I have seen in a very long time. Mariah is out of control. I didn’t think any kind of drag could freak me out. But this does. Love her so much and can’t wait for the video to drop.

The picture above is from Rap-Up, they have more. Check them out.
Thanks Alex.
I only had this clip on my facebook, but it really belongs here. This is a clip of Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor as they celebrate Christmas in 1993. Best ever Xmas.
Thanks Claus.

Omg, last night was out of control.
At the beginning of the night Mary and I were a bit worn out from the Drag Holes (more on that later), but when the performance by The House of Monroe started, our ship wrecks were set on fire.
Twista, Snoopy and Vixen, members of The House of Monroe shut it down. The energy levels were so high, you thought the roof would blow off any second. So much screaming and cheering.
After we thought it couldn’t get any better, there were more and more super hot dips and moves. And finally, Mary Messhausen and Isabella Hosellini joined in on the action.
Check the pictures below. Lots of pictures after the jump, even more on flickr.
We missed to capture so many great outfits, sorry to all of you who we did not flash.

In the evening join us for Siegfried & RoyNuts at The Beaver. More on that later.
Here is Mary and my bio, we cut it down to the facts for Pride:
Mary Messhausen and produzentin were found wandering hand-in-hand through the woods by a travelling circus troupe at the age of 4. Raised by the Bearded Lady, these girls learned their tricks by hustling and bustling from the outskirts of St. John’s to the inner harbour of Victoria.
Mary and produzentin, 19 and 20 respectively, currently reside in Toronto, Ontario.

… at home.

When Toffi and I stayed at the Mirage in Las Vegas, we were of course a little sad that we couldn’t experience the magic that is Siegfried & Roy. Guess we came a couple of years too late.
Anyways, we had a great time visiting the Secret Garden of Siegfried & Roy with all the wild animals. In the little shopette by the zoo I found the book “The Magic Begins At Home” by S&R. The style is a good companion to the Michael Jackson auction catalogue.
More pictures after the jump, the full glory is on flickr.

Read all of "The Magic Begins …"
With this entry I would like to slowly move your attention from Michael Jackson to Siegfried & Roy. And what better way than with the song “Mind Is The Magic”. Recorded by Michael Jackson for Siegfried & Roy in 1989(?) and used in a trailer for one of their magical shows. This is Las Vegas.
If you’re in a hurry fast forward to 2:45 to hear Michael sing the chorus: Siegfried & Roy! Siegfried & Roy!
You know, I’ve been a little bit obsessed with Michael Jackson and shopping recently. So, when Toffi and I hit Las Vegas last week, one of the first things we did was visiting stores that Michael Jackson has shopped at.
Three of the stores are pictured below. They can be found in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, where the sky is always light blue with little fluffy clouds. It doesn’t get any better for a shopping destination.

Great art including bronze statues as seen in the MJ auction catalogue

Music and film memorabilia at it’s best

Dream catchers and adorable nicknacks
Dear Readers, sorry for the long break.
Toffi and your humble hostess were on a whirlwind of a trip to Las Vegas and I needed more time to recover than I thought. Anyways, here is a quick preview of what’s to come. As always: the bags are full, full, full.

Finally, here are two videos of Mama Messhausen performing at MuumuuNuts. In Tiny Bubbles, Mary joins her Mama on stage and the whole rooms sings with them: Makes me happy, makes me feel fine!
The second video has Mama Messhausen on the ukulele singing The Hukilau Song. Magic!
All in HD Cinemascope below.

We had a wonderful time on Muumuu Island. Thanks so much for making it fun. Mama Messhausen played the ukulele and got the whole room singing: “Tiny bubble in the wine, makes me happy, makes me feel fine.” Videos will be uploaded later.
El Bear Ho won the lifetime achievement award for best costume.

I know you’re all dying in anticipation of the new Mariah album. Today, Mimi announced the record’s title via twitter:
The memoirs are excepted to hit stores this fall. Can’t wait.
This Saturday come to The Beaver in your best muumuu to cheer for the one and only Mama Messhausen. It’s her second time on our stage and we’re quite sure she will bring the house down.

This Friday, get ready for a great night at Inside Out, Toronto’s LGBTTIQQ2S film and video festival.
There is a rare screening of Viola Klein’s movie Raw. Doc Nancy, Toffi and myself play Hortense, Phyllis and Susan, who live in a self-supporting environment, far away from their former stage, the Vanity Ballroom.
Get tickets for this program Friday, May 15th, 7:45pm.

After that, you should just stay at Cinecycle for a screening of The Beaver Trilogy.
Then, take a cab to The Beaver for the afterparty. Mary Messhausen is hosting, Fay Slift is performing with M+M, Will Munro and Alex W are djing. You don’t want to miss that.
I had seen pictures of that photoshoot, but somehow didn’t blog about it. Then Mary sent me the picture below. This has to be the best one from this session.

David H. sent me this seductive & stem-y picture. Well, actually it is a boner trompe l’oeil t-shirt. Seems like spring is in the air. And you know what that means: asparagus harvesting time! Seriously.
Have a look after the jump. Most likely NSFW.

Below is my new favourite music video. It is by Tammie Brown, the drag queen that was kicked off RuPaul’s Drag Race way too soon. They just didn’t get her. But we do!
Tiger Lilly, she’s very nice
She made friends with all the mice

You know, we love everything Trompe L’oeil here at produzentin.com. My friend Mischell just sent me the wonderful Create Grooming Poodle site (he seems to be really into poodles).
Anyways, now that I know that a dog can be so much more than just a boring dog, I want I poodle like Cindy, who loves attention and can look like:

A Dragon, for instance

Or a peacock

Or a peacock after the show without feathers

My favourite: a ninja turtle!
This is not allgemein anymore, this is speziell.

After their collaboration in 2008, H&M and Designers Against Aids are doing it again. The list of involved designers & musicians is long. I’m most excited to see Roisin Murphy’s and Yoko Ono’s creations. Pictures should hit the interwebs soon as the T-Shirts will be in the shops later this month.
Update: In shops May 28, all pictures here (Roisin on page 1, Yoko on 4)

Worn alone or layered, Tiffany Keys are innately chic, keepers of a mysterious message for the keyholder to know and the curious to imagine.
The sentence above from the press release just sums it up. Who writes these things? I think I could very well fit in that writing team.
Tiffany Keys are available in Sterling Silver, Gold, Platinum and White Gold. Buy them right hurrrr.
Mmmmh, I would love to get some White Gold nick nacks. Or a couple of them in different materials. I need something mysterious & curious dangling around my neck.

Tiffany & Co. announces a new jewelry collection that holds the key to personal style and reveals the renowned jeweler”™s great legacy.
The new Tiffany Keys Collection is inspired by keys from the Tiffany & Co. Archives. The work of skilled goldsmiths and silversmiths, these exquisitely crafted vintage keys unlocked jewelry and keepsake boxes, albums, diaries and steamer trunks, as well as private clubs and country manors. (source)
And this is all Sabs fault. Thanks.
In a move to attract even more cute nerds, Mary wore the Lost numbers as a necklace to last nights Hotnütz party. My dress is by the wonderful PG, who was dearly missed.
Gartina took the stage super late but wasted no time to get naked. A semi NSFW picture is after the jump. For full sausage action, you have to check out flickr.
Das Hussy premiered her remix of Gentleman Reg’s We’re In A Thunderstorm to great dance floor success. Have a listen at the Arts & Crafts website and be sure to vote for Das Hussy.
Even more pictures, all full-size & downloadable on flickr.

I kind of watched Walküre on the plane and took some screen caps. Ok, I didn’t watch it. However, I still fantasize about the movie being a great Hollywood b-movie, like Showgirls or something. I guess it isn’t and to keep the fantasy alive, I only took the pictures from the first 15 minutes. I could still watch it.

Don’t you love nasty nature?

Wendy & Lisa gave a candid interview to out.com. They’re talking about their relationship, recording with Grace Jones, their time with Prince in The Revolution and recording an album with Trevor Horn in the 90ties which did not get released, partly because of his homophobic remarks.
I love how they describe Prince as a “fancy lesbian” and getting more upset phone calls from him everytime they share some purple memories.
The ladies new album White Flags of Winter Chimneys is available from Wendy & Lisa”™s web site.
Did you first think Prince was gay?
Lisa: He was little and kinda prissy and everything. But he”™s so not gay.
Wendy: He”™s a girl, for sure, but he”™s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman.
Lisa: Totally. He”™s like a fancy lesbian.
Wendy: I remember being at that “œSexuality” video shoot and him on stage with that little black jacket and that tie thing around his neck and his black pants with white buttons on the side. And we looked at each other for the first time and I thought, “œOh, I could so fall in love with that girl easy.” It doesn”™t matter what sexuality, gender you are. You”™re in the room with him and he gives you that look and you”™re like, “œOkay, I”™m done. It”™s over.” He”™s Casanova. He”™s Valentino.
Wendy: We had an amazing month with [Jones] in our home writing “œWilliams”™ Blood,” becoming friends, and being bizarre divas. We had to pick her up when she woke up in the morning, and the morning to her was like 6 PM.
Lisa: She gets in the back seat of the car and of course we have to stop to buy bottles of champagne. She wanted to play the bass. She kind of couldn”™t, but she could groove like nobody”™s business on one note. She started to sing and I wish I could”™ve seen my own face. I was like —
Wendy and Lisa in near unison: Oh my God, it”™s Nightclubbing! [Jones"™s classic 1981 disco-punk album with the hit "œPull Up to the Bumper"]

I’m a little bit sad about it, ahhhh, I guess this is what Michael Jackson wanted: Not to auction off the Neverland estate. But I so wanted the Pinocchio statuette.
All the items are still on display in L.A. until April 25.
And I have just received the auction catalogue last week. Such a bummer. Below are a couple of pictures from the five catalogue box set. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Literally, you can pick any page from the books and you want to buy it. It is insane!

This painting is called “Study for Field of Dreams”.
The painter, David Nordahl, is obviously a genius.
There are a couple of his paintings in the catalogue.

MJ jewelery: So would have worn it all the time

There is a whole chapter of gloves. These are the basic ones.

Maybe this doll was the inspiration for Little Susie?

To the left, the Pinocchio Statuette I really wanted

Life size masks that were used in the 1997 short film Ghosts.
Is this scuuuuury?

Who wouldn’t want to have a Neverland trash can?

Hopefully soon in a museum near me.

Mary sent me a note about the wonderful lipgloss Huge Lips Skinny Hips that has been cooked up by Purple Lab founder Karen Robinovitz.
The gloss helps to pump up your tires and makes you believe you just ate. Perfect. Vitamin B3 will plump your lips upstairs and some mysterious African plant extract will drop a few pounds downstairs (I’m going to drink it):
The product contains Hoodia Gordonii extract, which is derived from the plant found in South Africa and Namibia. The ingredient is claimed to be a natural appetite-suppressant, which is said to work by mimicking the effects of glucose on the brain, tricking it into thinking you’ve just eaten.

HLSH is available in six sheer shades, with names including Kitty Poledancer & No Panty Lines.

The celebrations to Barbie’s 50th birthday are never ending. Did they save the best for the last? Finally, we can dress Barbie with our favourite designer cloths.
WWD reports on an exhibition at Galeries Lafayette, Paris where Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel are among around 50 designers to give the doll something nice to wear.
The picture above is of course the Margiela Barbie dressed in a “flesh-tone face mask and bodysuit, a pair of black fishnet tights and a shaggy coat crafted from glossy blonde wigs.”
(Hail Mary!)
Gentleman Reg’s video to his dancy new single “We’re in a Thunderstorm” has just been released. The song is going to stick in your head, believe me.
I’m so glad G-Man is stepping out of the indie rock corner & giving us some fresh air. The clip features lots of Toronto Queen West peoples including the wonderful Fay Slift aka Ladybear Extraordinaire.
And in case you were wondering why Mary and Proddy are not in the video: we were to drunk to show up, totally confused we headed to Queen East, looking for the shooting location. Doh.
As always, I’m hoping for a pumping deep house remix. Get the Thunderstorm source files of the song and submit your mix to Arts&Crafts. Make it work.

Apart from the songs below, I love to listen to anything Kid Cudi. Hopefully he is coming out with his debut album soon, although Cudi has recently announced and withdrawn, his retirement. In general, I do think it is a great idea to announce the retirement before the first album hits the streets.
There is a new interview with Helmut Berger at faz.net. Below is just the beginning of the very entertaining conversation. After the first two or three questions, the Visconti actor asks the journalist if he knows dingleberries, using the Austrian slang wintercherries. And it just gets better from there.
Mr. Berger acts in a soon to be released low budget film, Blutsfreundschaft.
Sie haben ein aufregendes Leben hinter sich . . .
HB: Jetzt beginnt die Gehirnoperation.Ruhm, Rausch, Ekstase . . .
Mach weiter!

After the success of RuPaul’s Drag Race (best reality TV show ever), the lady is back with a new album, Champion, available now on the interwebs.
Below is some behind the scenes footage for the video to my favourite song on the album, Tranny Chaser. It’s like the trannies of Poak Chops. Can’t wait for the full clip.

Mary and myself have been asked to come up with a project for Pride Toronto. It looks like we’re going to provide nasty entertainment in the afternoon of Saturday, June 27. Today, we’ve sent in our biography:

Thanks to all of you for coming out to our Hotnuts dipping sauce special edition. Mary Messhausen hosted the contest: plum, creamy garlic and honey mustard never tasted so good on fresh fruits.
Olive Oyl gave a theatre ready performance of “He’s Large” from the movie Popeye. Bluto made an appearance in the form of a six-foot tall dancing penis. Head over to omgblog to watch the video.
The packed dance floor was provided with heavy house beats from Bitz, who was in town from Frankfurt, and myself.

I know it has been awfully quiet around here. But there were a couple of parties and I djed at some.
The best time was to be had at the closing night party of the TDT show Chiasmata. After coming home, I had a whale of a time on the floor.

I vistited Beppu, the hot spring capital of Japan, in 2002. The whole city is basically running on hot steam. Nine of the hot springs are also known as Hells, which offer unlimited tourist fun.
Now today, eons after my visit, I received an e-mail from Beppu, letting me know that the Beppu city administration has installed a webcam. So cute:
We are very pleased to inform you that you can now observe hot springs steam. (…) We hope that you enjoy the scenery of Beppu-Kannawa Onsen, from time to time, through the Live -Camera available 24 hours a day.
Want to go back right now!

Just catching up on the new music videos that have been released during the last couple of days.
Here’s Mariah’s new clip. Or better The-Dream featuring Mariah in My Love. The intro has Mariah and TD fighting over da dough. Mimi: “You wanna make it about the bills? It’s all about the bills now.”
And there are out takes of the fighting scene, posted my Mariah’s husband. TD: “You with your fake Louis Vuitton belt on. With your fake Gucci shoes on.”
The new Deichkind video is again directed by the brilliant Alex & Liane. This time, they have hired a bunch of male plastic models to lipsync the song Luftbahn (Airway as in We’re driving with the airway through the night). The übergay models show of their gym bodies later in the clip, using Nutella to write Yes and No on their robo-skin. There are Joe Dallesandro references & super cute animals. WATCH IT.
In very sad news Deichkind’s producer, Sebastian Hackert, responsible for the kids sound, passed away in February. The band has not yet decided if they are going to continue Deichkind.

My two favourite designers showed in Paris on the same day. Again, both had a stunning catwalk.
I’m such a fan of Jutta Kraus now. She is mostly responsible for the Bernhard Willhelm Women’s collection. And of course, Maison Martin Margiela brought the shoulders. And clouds.

Ok, I thought I would not use this word again, but here we go:
Fotzeritis [vulg.], German
I guess it translates into English as “cuntitis”. Heard it first a couple of years ago from the dearest CvB, also known as the wife of the professorin.
Now recently, I got Annie Leibovitz At Work as a present. On the book jacket there is a quote by Annie that reads:
“The first thing I did with my very first camera was climb Mt.Fuji.”
Sounds like the perfect example of fotzeritis to me.

I’ve been on twitter for a little while. And now it’s perfect: Mariah tweets!
What’s even more exciting is that Mimi is recording a new album. I guess it is to early to say but how about a release date before Christmas, latest next spring?
“Just so you don’t think I’m lazy,I did work all nite and its 4am..but I’m “still layin up in bed it’s 3:27″ name THAT tune if u can! Hint B” #
“I am sittin here writing lyrics in the bed waiting for my husband to get home!!!!!(Watching Slumdog- again) and painting my nails..”500hrs” #
“goodmornting! Yep. I was up til like 8am yesterday listening to the new songs w/raerae and Shawn etc and now I gotta sleep all day(cont)
So I can sing tonite again. But I love what I’m doin so yay! Have a great day. No bleakness! Loveyamuch, “your girl” track 10 EOM album: ) “#“Hey! Just finished 2 songs. Now I get to eat a bleak morsel of “food” and get some sleep! I enjoyed ya’ll profusely today/night. God Bless!” #

“Pinocchio Statuette
Color resin statuette of Pinocchio talking to Jiminy Cricket perched on his shoe.
16 by 10 by 9.5 inches”
Today, I spent most of my time browsing through the online auction catalogue of the Michael Jackson Neverland sale. One item that tickled my fancy was the Pinocchio Statuette above. I fell in love with it. In a nasty Paul McCarthy kind of way.
For further research, I watched the Living with Michael Jackson documentary from a few years back by that (awful) “journalist”. And what can I see, sitting on one of the tables: Pinocchio!
Got to have him!
But what I really was looking for was the moment when Michael Jackson goes shopping in Las Vegas. One of the best moments ever captured by TV cameras, minus the stupid “journalist” commentary, who is only asking about the prices. Boring!
Anyway, here it is. Jump to 4:00 minutes, where the fun begins.
“Journalist”: Do you think it is a bit tacky?
Michael Jackson: Tacky, are you silly?
Michael Jackson + Shopping = Magic
I felt very tempted to put all pictures from the online auction catalog of the Michael Jackson Neverland auction in this post. There are so many great items to be had, for instance “an electric cart featuring an image of Jackson as Peter Pan on the bonnet and Peter Pan cushions.” I’d love to drive around with that all day. It could be the new tranny Wheel-Trans.
Every piece is a winner. The descriptions read like poetry: “A display of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in a setting created by the Walt Disney display team. A plaque reads: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Presented to Michael Jackson from the Cast of Walt Disney World”
What to buy first?
Update: Flip through the full catalogue

“A robotic Michael Jackson head featured at the climax of his 1988 film Moonwalker, when he transforms into a robot and defeats Joe Pesci’s evil character, Mr Big.” And it still animates!
Honestly, I love every item. Want it. Need it.
Love this portrait of the King of Pop:

“A portrait of Michael Jackson dressed as a king, oil on canvas, signed and dated 1995 and housed in an elaborate gold frame.”
Guardian: “It’s the sale of the century”

Last night, the M 27s (hailing from Alberta) took the stage at the rammed Beaver and performed a rousing rendition of Beyonce’s Single Ladies. We all freaked out.
Mary was lactating the whole night, although she is only one month pregnant but showing for nine. She was so exhausted after the party, that she’s now vacationing on MILF Island.
I was going for a “burka ewok slut at the circus” look. There were a couple of tranny chasers from Alberta in the house who offered some serious oil money for a little private time. It was a pleasure djing with Jaime. We as in I blew the speakers twice. Doh.

Look closely at the picture above and get some make up tips from Candy. And watch the trailer to the upcoming documentary about Ms Darling, including a short interview clip with John Waters.
She was baptized James Lawrence Slattery in 1944 but reinvented herself as Candy Darling in the late 1960s after leaving suburban Long Island for the streets of the West Village, a place in the back room at Max”™s Kansas City and a role as muse.
She hung out with artists like Andy Warhol and crossed paths with musicians like David Bowie. The filmmaker Paul Morrissey put her in two of his movies. Lou Reed wrote the Velvet Underground song “œCandy Says” with her in mind and included a verse about her in his “œWalk on the Wild Side.”
It was as a teenager in the summer of 1966 that Mr. Newton first met Candy Darling, a self-styled transgender glamour girl. (…) The two soon became friends and roommates, living together in Manhattan and Brooklyn until 1974, when she died of Hodgkin”™s lymphoma at 29.
(…) In 1997 his remembrance of his friend, “œMy Face for the World to See,” was published. And more recently he began working with others on a documentary, “œBeautiful Darling: The Life and Times of Candy Darling, Andy Warhol Superstar,” which he said was scheduled to be shown in theaters and broadcast on the Sundance Channel near the end of this year.
