30 January 2007 | Bernhard Willhelm Men’s Collection Winter 2007/08

I’m writing from my tiny hotel room in Paris, but I won’t complain, they provide wireless internet access. What more do I need?

I just came back from an amazing Bernhard Willhelm Men’s Collection Show for Autumn/Winter 2007/2008. I’m going to write a full article for Mode Depesche. For now, I would like to share a few pictures. There were even more gorgeous outfits. Full coverage should be up soon at totemfashion.

Additionally, I was able to record a video of the first minute of the show to give you a better impression. Don’t you love the chanting / yodeling?

Enjoy.
Thanks to Andreas and Andy for getting me in there.
WANT IT. WANT IT. WANT IT. NEED IT. NEED IT. NEED IT.

29 January 2007 | The Return Of Sepia

Viola and I played some records at Alex’ Don’t Tell Mama Party last night. Kiki did a fierce performance to 2 songs. When I put the CD with her second song in, it felt like preparing for a Gartina number. The song was 11 minutes long. Turns out, it was a remix of a Mariah song. Loved it.
After the party at Bett, we went back to S and chillaxed till 7.

All the pictures after the jump.

19 January 2007 | Who Is It?

Is Kelis wearing Gareth Pugh in her new video, Lil’ Star?
It could be a custom made cross between this and that.

And don’t you all think that Kelis looks increasingly like Morris Day (pictured below), lead singer of the Prince protégé band The Time?

Pugh?

Is it?

Kelis, what time is it?
One of my favourite album covers. The Time was 1982.
Pointy mouth. Love it. Have to practice that look.
Check out Morris’ early 90ties Kelis look in Jerk Out.

18 January 2007 | Think Pink

On Sunday, after another exhaustive party night at S, we watched TV and caught the last 40 minutes of the musical Ein süßer Fratz (Funny Face) directed by Stanley Donen (Charade, Singin’ in The Rain) in 1957.

FF
The famous Avedon portrait of Audrey Hepburn

Having missed the first part of the movie didn’t hurt at all, maybe it was even funnier starting with the scenes where Audrey Hepburn’s character is modeling for a photographer played by Fred Astaire on location in Paris. The lightning and setting of the photo shoots, which were consulted by Richard Avedon, is fantastic.

The Office

At times, the German dubbing of the movie was stilted which only added to our amusement:

Dick: Wie sehe ich aus? (How do I look?)
Maggie: Du siehst bedeutend aus. (You’re full of pizazz!)

Maggie, the fashion editor of Quality magazine is the 50ties version of Anna Wintour, inspired by Diana Vreeland, fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar in the 1930s. According to my dictionary, pizzazz is said to have been invented by Diana.

Now, after I’ve seen the movie on DVD, the first hour is not to be missed, especially the first 5 minutes. Maggie enters the office, let’s all her assistants come to her desk and proclaims: Think Pink!

This is followed by fireworks of pink sets:

pink toothpaste

pink bath

17 January 2007 | Watching Emily and Florence

In case you haven’t seen The Return Of Courtney Love, you can download it at this wonderful fansite in 4 parts.

It includes a clip of Courtney and Frances Bean watching Little Britain.
It goes without saying that Emily Howard and Florence are a favourite of mine.

Mark your calendars.

10 January 2007 | Hope

I hope the iPhone picks me up at the airport, when I arrive in Toronto. And I think I can trash lots of things once it is with me: iPod, cell phone, digital camera, dish washer, oven, fridge, coffee machine, you name it.

09 January 2007 | Music Rehab

Although released in 2006, Rehab (Hot Chip Remix) by Amy Winehouse is the first song I downloaded this year. Get it over at arjan writes.

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said no, no, no

I hope this is not a sign of the things to come, especially after all the partying on our Germany trip. We spent last weekend in Cologne, were we stayed at the wonderful maison malorama.

Tracey Thorn’s second solo album, Out Of The Woods, is going to be released in March 2007. You can listen to the first single, It’s All True, (including the trippy Martin Buttrich remix of the same) at her myspace page.

Still, my favourite Buttrich remix is his version of Moloko’s Familiar Feelings.
Steffi introduced me to it.

05 January 2007 | Floam It

This is the best christmas present I got this season. Pink Floam. I got hooked on Floam when I saw the Floam commercial. Make sure to watch it on the Floam homepage. Floam. Floam. Floam. Floam. Floam. Floam. Floam. I wanted this Floam so badly.

Laying my hands on the Pink Floam for the first time was like drinking a glass of sparkling pink champagne. Excitement bubbles rushed through my veins. Uuuuuh. Floam.

Here a couple of things I build out of my Pink Floam.
I could go on for hours playing with FLOAM. It’s fun you can feel!

Mash It… Mold It… Mix It… Smoosh It… Bounce It… Eat It… Lick It… Kiss It… FLOAM It…

03 January 2007 | Raw by Viola Klein

In Raw, Viola Klein’s short film, Nancy, Toffi and I act as girlfriends who retired from show business out of free will. Hortense, Phyllis and Susan live in a self-supporting environment, far away from their former stage, the Vanity Ballroom (pictured below).

Here are a few set pictures.
